What is Acting?
Acting is an activity in which a story is told by means of its enactment by an actor/actress who adopts a character in theatre, T.V., film, radio or any other medium that makes use of the mimetic mode. Acting involves a broad range of skills, including a well developed imagination, emotional facility, physical expressivity, vocal projection, clarity of speech and the ability to interpret drama.
Acting also demands an ability to employ dialects, accents, improvisation, observation and colleges to develop these skills. A vast majority of professional actors have undergone extensive training. Actors and actresses will often have many instructors and teachers for a full range of training involving singing, scene work, audition techniques and acting for camera.
Importance of an Actor:
Acting is a phenomenal skill and an innate ability (present in an individual by birth). An actor is anyone who has the ability to project a character onscreen with a flawless spontaneity.
Objective of the Course:
To make the student a competent professional with a strong foundation of acting skills so that he/she can add value to the industry through their expertise and honed skills.
Theoretical inputs
This will basically comprise of the components on each and every discipline of acting such as body language, voice modulation, script analysis, camera, grooming and personality development.
The theory will arm the individual with a strong foundational base and help him/her to enhance their knowledge in the realm of this industry.
Practical inputs
This will basically comprise of components given on acting with co-actor, gesture pose, emotion and imagination, dialogue delivery, dubbing and make-up, etc.
This training will provide them with a hands-on experience of the field with a practical aspect to relate to.
