Shri Subhash Bhattacharya

Executive Counselor

Shri Subhas Bhattacharya belongs to a renowned cultural family based out of Bengal. He has a deft vision for creativity and refinement in the arena for arts. He has a prudent wisdom for the finer things in life. His experience shall help the students of K. F. A gain a fresh take towards the cultural aspect of acting. He is also associated with SANSKAR BHARATI since 1987.

Shri Ashijit Ganguli

Head of Operation

Prof Ganguli did his post-graduation in Cinematography from FTII, Pune in1981. After FTII, his first association was with the reputed director and cameraman, Mr Govind Nihalini. Between 1982 to 1985, he worked as Assistant Cameraman on numerous box office successes, namely ‘Vijeta’, ‘Ardh Satya’, ‘Godam’, ‘Party’ and ‘Aaghat’. His first academic appointment was at the FTII, Pune, as Lecturer in the Department of Cinematography, between the years 1985 and 1987. From 1989 to 2016 Prof. Ganguli was attached to the Educational Media Research Centre, St. Xavier’s College, Calcutta – first as senior cameraman, and ultimately as a senior producer – Produced over 200 educational television programs for the UGC’s Country-Wide Classroom. Alongside a professional career spanning 35 years in the film & television industries of Mumbai, Delhi and Kolkata.

Shri Abhijit Guha is a renowned film maker, an actor and a writer working in the Tollywood film industry for more than three decades. Shri Tapan Ganguly

Faculty

Tapan Ganguly is a veteran thespian serving Bengali folk drama (jatra), serial, film and theatre for the last 50+ years, winning several national and state awards. Shri Ganguly has always been forthcoming in sharing the rich knowledge he has gained over the years as a playwright, director and actor. The students of the Kolkata Film Academy would gain immensely from his experience and expertise.

Shri Bimal Chakraborty

Faculty

Shri Bimal Chakraborty, presently known as one of the most outstanding actors of Bengali Stage so far acted as the lead actor in nearly fifty theatre productions, started his career initially in Nandikar where he was extensively trained and subsequently acted and assisted his first mentor Rudraprasad Sengupta in several theatre productions. Later he was trained in the seventh intensive theatre workshop under the auspices of the National School of Drama, Delhi in 1982. He was also selected under the Scheme for the Young Theatre Directors of the Sangeet Natak Akademi, Delhi and participated in the East Zone Theatre Festival in 1990.

Shri Prokash Bhattacharya

Born on July, 29, 1949, his father late Gouri Kedar Bhattacharya was a legendary Bengali singer-composer-lyricist which helped him grow up in an aesthetic ambience. He is a graduate from the University of Calcutta. Joined theatre in his early childhood in a public theatre of Kolkata – Biswarupa. Made his debut in Bengali film as a child artist at an age of only 12 yrs. with the legendry actor Uttam Kumar.

Shri Pintoo Mitra

Faculty

Shri Pintoo Mitra has been professionally involved with CCMA (Calcutta Cine Musician Association, Honr. Life member) for around four decades. He is also a Radio & TVs approved artiste, a multi-instrumentalist, song writer, arranger & has vast experience of working with renowned veterans & contemporary professional music personnel’s. He also coaches speech & expression for dubbing in films personnel’s. His experience will help to the students of K.F.A to learn the pitch, diction, volume and the dubbing for their acting skills.
